Cold chain warehousing and frozen storage operations

Frozen products are unforgiving. Ice cream that partially thaws and refreezes forms ice crystals and loses texture, and the damage is often only visible when the customer opens it. Cold chain warehousing is about more than a cold room. It is about how stock is received, stored, picked and loaded so that it never loses the temperature integrity.

How we protect product quality

  • Frozen storage held at the temperature your products need (typically −18 °C or below for ice cream and frozen foods)
  • Inward planning so incoming trucks are unloaded straight into the frozen chamber
  • Location-wise and tray or box wise stock tracking in our WMS
  • FEFO (first expiry, first out) picking to prevent stock ageing
  • Defined SOPs for loading, door-open time and damaged-stock segregation
  • Daily stock reports and damage records with evidence

Warehousing organized for fast-moving frozen SKUs

Quick commerce and e-commerce orders are smaller and more frequent than traditional distribution. Our chamber organization and picking process are set up for this high-velocity SKUs are placed for fast picking, and pick lists are generated so staff spend less time in the freezer and stock spends less time outside it.

Visibility you can act on

Every inward, movement and dispatch is recorded in FroGo WMS. That gives you an accurate stock position by batch and expiry, a clear record of any damage, and the data you need to decide what to produce and where to send it.

Cold Chain Warehousing: FAQs

What temperature is ice cream stored at?

Ice cream and most frozen foods are generally stored at −18 °C or below. We hold stock at the temperature your product specification requires.

Do you offer cold storage only, or storage plus dispatch?

Both. Many brands use FroGo for storage and dispatch together, but we can also support storage-led arrangements. Tell us what you need and we will propose a setup.

How do you handle expiry and batch tracking?

Each batch is recorded with its expiry at inward. Picking follows FEFO, and stock nearing expiry is flagged so you can plan liquidation or promotions.

What happens if stock is damaged?

Damaged units are segregated, recorded with evidence and reported to you, following an agreed SOP for claims and disposal.
